FLOWERS
FOR WHORES "When Gods Fight
For A Flag"
7" EP (2006 Damage Done Records)
An agil beginning of Prague metalcore veterans
Few year ago was released red
vinyl of Kevorkian called "Relief Through Scream". Great record with a
lot of hard core / metal ended by Judas Priest cover. The band Flowers
For Whores was founded at the end of 2005 and some of its members are
ex-Kevorkian musicians. These muscians are Tomáš (vocals) a Míra (guitar).
They were joined by ex-member from Ambrosia, Pavel (guitars) and Myšák
(drums). The line up is completed by Mikita (bass) from Abhorrence.
The band itself is new, but the musicians are experienced, so they did
not have to rehearse any long and they just told eachother what to
play and they started recording. Their EP was out only one year after
the band was founded. What style Kevorkian plays? Well, hard core /
metal or, if you prefere metal core. Musicians themselves admit
influences of 90s HC, 80s thrash metal, Swedish death metal and
contemporary metal core. And to tell the truth, the band offers
everything of it.
The EP contains one track on each side. "A Game On Shells" is a kind
of personal confession, with very strong feelings. The other song "Head
In The Clouds" is in a way similar, in other way different.
Cleverly recorded guitars, underlying bass, drums like a machine and
especially the vocalist with skilful metallic expression. This plus
the sound by Pave Hejč (ex-Vitacit) is the summary of the third
release of Damage Done Records. The EP was released in 250 copies only,
hand numbered, to support for F4W European Tour. |
